Lindemann Chimney Service has been a trusted name in Chicago’s North Shore and Northern Suburban area since 1969. Founded by former fire captain Gary Lindemann, the company quickly became a local leader in chimney and fireplace safety. Over the past fifty years, Lindemann has expanded its services to include chimney inspection, repair, installation, furnace, and air conditioning services, earning a reputation for excellence and innovation locally and nationally.

Lindemann's mission is clear: "We measure our success by the impact we have on the world." This mission is driven by their three aligned branches: wholesale distribution of chimney supplies and tools, providing chimney cleaning and home services, and manufacturing premium chimney top fireplace dampers.

 

Project Overview

Lindemann Chimney Supply enlisted Snapshot to lead their migration from SuiteCommerce Advanced to BigCommerce B2B Edition, focusing on creating a robust B2B commerce solution. The main reasons for migrating to BigCommerce included leveraging the extensive out-of-the-box functionality offered by BigCommerce B2B Edition, enhancing their B2B customer experience with a modern, scalable platform, and enabling non-technical team members to manage and update the site easily. This migration also provided Lindemann with comprehensive B2B functionality, including features such as quoting, invoices, and company management.

Snapshot's Role

Snapshot's expertise in SuiteCommerce Advanced, BigCommerce, and NetSuite positioned us as a valuable partner for this migration. Our role encompassed several key areas:

Discovery and Solutioning

We began with an in-depth discovery and solutioning phase to fully understand Lindemann's needs and how best to leverage BigCommerce's capabilities. This phase included detailed requirements gathering, solution architecture design, and integration strategy planning.

Front End Development

Using a BigCommerce theme as a foundation, we tailored the front end to meet Lindemann's aesthetic and functional requirements. Key tasks included theme installation and configuration, custom styling to align with Lindemann’s overall look and feel, and custom development. This custom development involved creating tabs on Product Detail Pages (PDP) for specifications, videos, and a link to download product spec PDF documents, as well as a B2B feature to display a wholesale catalog page exclusively for B2B customers. Additionally, we installed and configured essential apps like ShipperHQ, Avalara, CyberSource, and Tawk.to.

Data Integration

To ensure seamless data flow between BigCommerce and NetSuite, we utilized Celigo’s Integrator.io. Our solution included a custom integration built with Celigo specifically to handle B2B Edition workflows such as quotes, invoices, and B2B Edition orders, while leveraging Celigo's BigCommerce to NetSuite Integration app for other essential workflows, including customers, inventory, orders, returns/refunds, pricing, and products.

Project Management and Launch Support

Throughout the project, we provided comprehensive project management, ensuring milestones were met and the project stayed on track. Post-launch, we supported Lindemann with launch activities and continue to provide ongoing support.
