How Murray Percival modernized a complex industrial catalog and specialized B2B buying experience on BigCommerce
About Murray Percival
Murray Percival is an Auburn Hills, Michigan-based full-line distributor and manufacturers' representative for PCB assembly equipment and process materials, serving electronics manufacturers across the United States since 1960. With a catalog spanning soldering, cleaning, static control, dispensing, material handling, and visual inspection products from leading industry brands, Murray Percival built its reputation on deep product expertise and a consultative approach to helping manufacturers source what they need. As the company prepared to replace its existing ecommerce experience, it needed a modern B2B storefront capable of handling a large technical catalog, established customer accounts, and specialized buying workflows. Murray Percival partnered with Snapshot to implement a BigCommerce B2B storefront built around the Camden theme, with catalog and customer migration, targeted B2B customizations, and HubSpot-connected buyer experiences.
Project Overview
Innovative Uniform Solutions needed more than a functioning Shopify store. With a catalog spanning garments, duty gear, and personalized products across dozens of size and color variants, the business needed to support complex product configuration online while keeping orders, inventory, and fulfillment connected to NetSuite.
IUS partnered with Snapshot to rebuild their Shopify B2C storefront from the ground up and connect it to NetSuite through Celigo. Snapshot guided the team through personalization app selection and configuration, translating loosely defined customization requirements for logos, embroidered names, nameplates, hemming, striping, and made-to-order patches into product-level rules that worked end to end. In parallel, Snapshot configured Celigo integration flows for orders, products, inventory, and order status updates, and built a dedicated supplier inventory sync making SanMar-sourced item availability visible online while keeping IUS's NetSuite-centered operating model intact.
The result was a connected storefront that brought Innovative Uniform Solution’s in-house customization expertise online, with guided personalization for customers and integrated back-office operations that had previously been running in isolation.
The Solution
Storefront Implementation
Snapshot opened the engagement with discovery, documenting requirements across catalog structure, buyer workflows, inventory presentation, and integration scope before starting configuration work.
After guiding Murray Percival through theme evaluation, the team selected and installed the Camden theme, established a development environment for controlled iteration, and configured the store with approved customizations and applications. Custom styling aligned the storefront with Murray Percival's brand, and targeted development work addressed requirements that Camden's out-of-the-box configuration did not cover on its own.

Catalog and Customer Migration
Moving approximately 3,845 SKUs to BigCommerce required structured, collaborative work across product formatting, variant and filter design, image handling, and data validation. Products in Murray Percival's catalog carry multiple images per SKU and require variant structures and filtering options allowing buyers to navigate a dense technical catalog without friction.
Snapshot assisted with formatting and importing product data, structuring variants and filters for browsability, and validating the catalog against launch readiness criteria. Snapshot also supported customer account migration in parallel, including the password reset experience buyers needed to access the upgraded storefront after go-live.
b2b workflow refinements
Murray Percival's buyers expect more from a B2B storefront than a standard ecommerce checkout. Snapshot translated a set of specialized requirements into concrete, testable storefront behavior across four areas:
-
Inventory messaging required a practical solution ahead of future ERP integration. Snapshot used imported variant values to drive in-stock quantity or out-of-stock and backorder messaging at the product level, keeping products available for purchase while giving buyers accurate availability signals. When the original import field proved unavailable through the Storefront API, Snapshot shifted availability logic to variant UPC, resolving the constraint without disrupting the buyer experience.
-
Payment terms and invoice visibility required targeted configuration in the BigCommerce B2B portal. Snapshot hid invoice access while retaining the underlying payment terms configuration Murray Percival needed for its B2B accounts.
-
Shopping list behavior required investigation and adjustment, so functionality matched the intended buyer workflow. Snapshot resolved the behavior so shopping lists functioned as Murray Percival's buyers expected.
- Shipping account capture required a custom approach due to checkout field constraints in BigCommerce. Snapshot relabeled the checkout comments field as Shipping Account Number using JavaScript, giving buyers a clear, functional input without requiring a custom checkout extension.
HubSpot-Connected Experiences
Murray Percival offers buyers two guided experiences beyond their standard product catalog: selector guides for narrowing product choices by application or specification, and Murray Managed Inventory for buyers looking for a vendor-managed supply program. Snapshot built both experiences with responsive HubSpot forms and reusable content patterns, connecting the storefront to HubSpot while keeping the scope distinct from a full CRM integration.
Buyers can access selector guides and managed inventory inquiries directly from the storefront, with form submissions flowing to Murray Percival's team through HubSpot.
The Impact: A Modern B2B Foundation for a Complex Industrial Catalog
Murray Percival's upgraded BigCommerce B2B storefront went live in August 2026, following a successful live credit card order and shipping configuration validation. Buyers gained a modern, responsive catalog experience with clear availability messaging, structured account access, and HubSpot-connected tools for product selection and managed inventory inquiries. Snapshot diagnosed and corrected a post-launch pagination issue on category pages, which Murray Percival confirmed was working as intended.
Murray Percival reported the site was up and running well, with a practical B2B commerce foundation now in place to support buyers while the company's broader systems roadmap continues to develop.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What does a BigCommerce B2B implementation involve?
A BigCommerce B2B implementation covers discovery and requirements documentation, theme selection and configuration, custom development, catalog and customer data migration, B2B workflow setup, application configuration, QA and UAT, and launch support. Discovery establishes how the platform needs to be configured to fit the business's catalog structure, buyer workflows, and data requirements before any build work begins. BigCommerce B2B includes out-of-the-box functionality for company accounts, payment terms, shopping lists, quoting, and invoice management, but most implementations require targeted customizations and data work to make those features match real buyer expectations. Snapshot leads BigCommerce B2B implementations from discovery through post-launch stabilization as an experienced BigCommerce implementation partner.
-
How does BigCommerce handle catalog migration at scale?
BigCommerce supports catalog imports through its API and native import tools, but migrating a large technical catalog requires structured preparation before any data moves. Product records need to be formatted to match BigCommerce's data model, variant and option structures need to reflect how buyers search and filter, images need to be organized and associated correctly, and the imported data needs to be validated against the live storefront before go-live. For Murray Percival, Snapshot assisted with formatting and importing approximately 3,845 SKUs, structuring variants and filters for a dense industrial catalog, managing multiple images per SKU, and validating the catalog against launch readiness criteria. Customer accounts were migrated in parallel, with a password reset experience built for buyers accessing the upgraded storefront.
-
How can a BigCommerce storefront show inventory availability without a live ERP integration?
BigCommerce supports inventory messaging through product and variant-level fields that can be populated via import. For a business operating without a live ERP integration, imported variant values can drive in-stock quantity displays or out-of-stock and backorder messaging at the product level, keeping products available for purchase while giving buyers useful availability signals. Snapshot configured this approach for Murray Percival, using variant UPC as the import field after the original field proved unavailable through the Storefront API. Buyers see accurate availability information based on the most recent import, and the configuration is designed to connect to a live inventory source when the broader systems roadmap reaches that point.
-
How does HubSpot connect to a BigCommerce storefront?
HubSpot forms and landing pages can be embedded directly in BigCommerce content pages, giving buyers access to guided experiences, inquiry forms, and lead capture tools without leaving the storefront environment. Snapshot built selector guide and managed inventory experiences for Murray Percival using responsive HubSpot forms and reusable content patterns, connecting buyer-facing storefront pages to HubSpot workflows on the back end. Submissions flow to Murray Percival's team through HubSpot without requiring a full CRM integration or custom middleware. Businesses looking to go further can build deeper HubSpot and BigCommerce connections through API-level integrations that sync contact records, order data, and behavioral signals between the two platforms.
-
Does Snapshot work with distributors and industrial suppliers on BigCommerce?
Snapshot works with distributors, manufacturers, and industrial suppliers across a range of BigCommerce implementations, including businesses with large technical catalogs, established B2B account structures, and specialized buying workflows. Murray Percival's project required migration assistance for approximately 3,845 SKUs, custom inventory messaging, B2B portal refinements, and HubSpot-connected buyer experiences, all within a systems roadmap that did not yet include a live ERP integration. Snapshot's approach to these engagements prioritizes translating real operational requirements into maintainable platform behavior, so businesses can launch a capable storefront and layer in deeper integrations as their roadmap develops.
